Built by the Bouygues Bâtiment Ile-de-France and Vinci consortium for the 1998 Football World Cup, the stadium has since gone on to host numerous sporting events.

What sets it apart? The playing surface is sunk below natural ground level, reducing the external height and imposing nature of the building. That said, its elliptical disk-shaped roof, suspended 42 metres above the pitch, makes it hard to miss!

The stadium was set up to publicize and develop the Plaine Saint-Denis area, a former brownfield site under renovation: new residential neighborhoods, new tertiary activities. The Stade de France makes it possible to give an attractive face, in particular to the address of the companies.
