Off-site construction

Off-site construction

Off-site constructionHow can we transform the construction sector?

Whether you're designing, renovating or building differently, off-site construction is a concrete response to three major challenges: improving productivity, overcoming labor shortages and reducing environmental impact. By relying on in-plant manufacturing and on-site assembly, this method speeds up lead times, keeps costs under control and significantly reduces the ecological footprint.

Standardization and industrialized methods: a new approach

Our aim is to standardize services and construction methods right from the design stage, integrating high-performance energy systems and industrialized 2D and 3D methods. We aim to massify standard purchases to guarantee optimized manufacturing and assembly.

This method enables us to deliver structures that are both of superior quality and better adapted to the specific needs of each project.

Digitalization, a key lever for industrialization

Digitalization is a major pillar of this transformation.

With the Bryck - New Way to Build, Bouygues Construction has adopted an innovative 3-stage approach:

  • Breakdown of a building into elementary industrialized bricks, while integrating local know-how.
  • Creation of a digital twin of the project to optimize design, sharing and communication.
  • Digitization of these bricks on the Dassault Systèmes 3D Experience platform.

The Bryck method enhances the customization of projects for customers, and enables them to build better and faster, with cost tracking and fine-tuning of the carbon trajectory.

ByWall: an example of an industrialized solution for energy renovation

Bouygues Construction's R&D Innovation department has developed ByWall, a concept of prefabricated, portable insulating facade panels, to support the mass-scale energy renovation of housing. These panels are designed using bio-sourced materials such as wood for the structure and absorbent cotton for the insulation, and represent a major step forward in terms of energy efficiency and sustainability.

By integrating off-site construction and industrialization 4.0, Bouygues Construction is part of a profound and sustainable transformation of the sector.

These methods make it possible not only to design customized, high-performance and eco-responsible projects, but also to better anticipate the economic and environmental challenges of the future.
